English as an Additional Language (EAL) Program

Our school’s English as an Additional Language Program (EAL) provides non-native English speaking students the opportunity to develop fluency in the English language, both in written and spoken form.

The Victorian Curriculum F-10 English as an Additional Language (EAL), is used as a guide to support the language learning needs of our EAL students in Reading, Writing and Speaking and Listening. Students also participate in a range of activities that support the celebration of special events in Australia (and our school), such as Harmony Day, National Reconciliation Week and Multicultural Day.

We cater for the diverse learning needs of our EAL learners through small, flexible groupings, team teaching and 1:1 teacher/student learning. All learning occurs in private, designated EAL learning spaces.
