Cyber Safety Project

Cyber Safety Education is taught at Knox Gardens Primary School to support students to develop the knowledge, skills and confidence they need to navigate the digital world safely and responsibly. As technology and online spaces continue to play an important role in children’s lives, it is important that students understand how to make safe choices, protect themselves and others, and respond appropriately to challenges they may encounter online. 

Knox Gardens Primary School is committed to helping students develop positive and responsible digital behaviours through the Cyber Safety Project. The program provides students with age-appropriate learning opportunities to explore topics such as online safety, privacy and personal information, respectful online communication, digital footprints, cyberbullying and knowing what to do when something does not feel right. 

Through these lessons, students develop the knowledge and skills to make informed decisions online, recognise potential risks, communicate respectfully and seek help when they need it. Students are also encouraged to think critically about their online experiences and understand how their choices can impact themselves and others. 

When students feel confident and supported to navigate the online world, they are better equipped to make safe, respectful and responsible choices. Building these skills helps students to participate positively in digital spaces while supporting their wellbeing, relationships and sense of belonging.
